My affiliation with AMS started in the spring of 2015 when I took part at an audio description commentary course at Crawley Town FC. Due to the fact I had travelled to Sussex all the way from Rotherham, I was instead given the far more local berth as an audio describer just a few junctions down the M1 at Nottingham Forest.
After starting as a volunteer at Forest, before occasionally working for AMS on a freelance basis in other roles such as announcing and hosting, I became a part-time member of the company in January 2017 - to coincide with my Broadcast Journalism studies at Nottingham Trent University.
Since then I have been fortunate enough to fly the AMS flag across the country and around the world - being able to work at some incredible events including: commentating at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Games in South Korea; 2017 World Para Ice Hockey Championships in South Korea (again!); the IBSA Blind Football European Championships in Germany; and providing audio description at the 2017 IAAF World Athletics and Para Athletics Championships in London, the 2017 Champions League Final in Cardiff, four FA Cup Semi-Finals, and the NFL at Wembley Stadium.
As AMS grows as a company year-on-year, I look forward to the increasing challenges and hope that the horizons ahead in the next two years are as broad and exciting as the last.
